Busy Busy Busy!!!

This weekend was SUPER busy!!! Gee whiz, Im surprised with all the running around that mommy did, that baby didnt decide to come out early and play.
*NewsFlash* is that Poppa's cousin who just had her baby shower last week....had her baby boy this Friday!!! Yay! He came weighing in at 5 lbs, 11 oz. Crazy thing is that when I saw her last week, I told her " next time we see each other we'll be mommies" and well now she's a real live mommy, that means that ....yikes....Im gonna be a real live mommy NEXT!!! AAHHHHH!! =) He he.
That'll be SO much fun when mommy and poppa get to hold baby in our arms.
Saturday Mommy went to her belly buddy's baby shower...it was SO much fun...lotsa good food, and fun games!
Sunday mommy and poppa had a few of our close friends over to visit our new home. It was SO much fun =)! But baby was wiped after giving so many tours of the Arreola Residence. I loved being able to see all of our friends and them being able to see where we live so that when baby comes they know how to get there ; ) And here's the person we have to thank for baby's blog...Diana! Yay, I was so happy her and her fam could make it to our home.
Everyone seemed to have a good time, here's our friends taking a dip in our pool...

Heck Baby Salma even had her baby doll dip her feet in the pool...somehow though the poor doll ended up completely in the pool...ooops... He he that was funny.
Poppa was running around like a chicken without a head to make sure everything was presentable for our guests, and in the end I think everything turned out wonderful =) Good job Poppa and compliments to the Chef ; )

Monday baby went for a good walk, then spent the day relaxing in the pool... just floating around, with poppa, nina Violet and uncle Tony...that was THE best!
This morning baby had a doctor visit to see how he's doing cooped up in mommy's belly. We heard his little heart beat, and him shuffling around in there, and doc is sending us to get another ultrasound next week to see how big he is. Mommy has to keep walking to make sure baby's born before he starts tippin the scales in the double digits! He he....just kidding.
As we were driving to our doctor appointment baby and I were just thinking to ourselves what a GREAT Poppa we have. Dadda moves his schedule around and is willing to sleep in a bit, to go to baby's doctor visit, which are so important to him, and mommy really appreciates that.
Dadda we LOVE you!!!!!

False Alarm!

Yesterday after mommy left work, she began to get tummy pains...=( She also had a heck of a lot of pressure down yonder, and was extremely uncomfortable. The pains seemed to get bigger, and they lasted for about three hours, but then once mommy laid down she began to feel better. Poppa was very helpful to mommy. Good thing is our bags are packed in case we needed to go, and poppa was ready to get the motor running, the only thing not ready is baby's car seat, but we were just gonna have to wing it.
The pain was not fun, but it was tolerable, I think what made me worry was the thought of baby getting ready to come out and he's only 34 1/2 weeks old...I really want him to come out when he's full term, so just wait in there at least two more weeks little guy!
I wish I had an explanation for those pains, but since I dont I'll draw up my own conclusion, that my uterus is getting ready for labor, yay! That's a good sign. =) Now as far as if they were contractions, who knows! I've never had contractions so I dont know what they feel like!!!
Anywho Im just praying that whenever baby does decide to come out that he is healthy, and that Baby Jesus takes care of baby and me.
Tank you.

Beautiful!

Lookie how beautiful our baby's bassinett is!!! Yup, we are ReAdY for this baby.... Doc says he's a big boy tippin the scales at nearly 6 pounds already!!! So mommy's gonna do a whole lotta walking to make sure this baby starts his long journey soon, before he gets so big he doesnt fit through the tunnel. =)
This weekend Mommy got the last minute shopping done at Target and Baby's R'Us, and Poppa took care of last minute details in the baby's room, so it's really looking complete now. Mommy even packed our bags for the hospital for when the real deal happens. Mommy has her nightgown, and her goodies, poppa has his change of clothes, and snacks, and baby has his little coming home outfit in his stylish diaper bag, and the blankie that Granny Elenita made for him long time ago, so the Arreola's are ready for business!!! I think even Nina Violet packed her bags..since she will be in the delivery room with us ; ) See we got all our bases covered!!!
On Sunday we went to Poppa's cousin, Denisse's baby shower, she's due on June 9th, so about 3 weeks ahead of us, but Mommy's belly's BIGGER!! Ha!

Ultrasound

Just a little update, Poppa and I went to get an ultrasound yesterday to see baby on the TV, and we were able to see him...it was a little difficult to make out what we were seeing, but we saw the little guy, he was just hanging out, he even played peak-a-boo with us because he was covering his face with his hands...how cute!!! And guess what....he's in head down position! Ready for take off.... =) He's such a good little baby, that explains all the kicking in mommy's ribs. The nice ultrasound lady was not able to tell us how much baby's tippin the scales at, but she said the doc will probably tell us, at our next appointment, once she gets the results, which will be Tuesday, May 26th.
Im getting SO excited...people ask me if Im ready or if Im scared, and Im really ready to meet our little baby, but I want to make sure he's done cooking in there, before he comes out, so the earliest I want to see him will be...June 5th when Im officially 37 weeks, and considered full term, no earlier than that, you hear me baby? But at the same time, Im going to MISS him SO much in there once he does come out! =( And Im not scared, more anxious and excited, but I really want to face this without any fear, and go in knowing that my body will do what it needs to do to get baby out safe and sound, and I will have people there to help me through this, instead of having to take nasty medicine..yuck =/
Poppa's funny, he asked me this morning if I had my hospital bags packed >=) Poppa, Mommy and baby have it under control! We will be packing our bags tomorrow! Hey you cant ever be too prepared right, just in case baby has plans of his own, he needs his bags packed for the long journey ahead of him.

Mother's Day Weekend...

Where do I start....Well Thursday was our last child birth class, we're officially ready for the birthing process =) The last class just went over what we had learned, and we had a last minute walk through of the maternity floor. Poppa and mommy had already taken a tour in the past, but this time, it was way better because now we're way closer to the real deal, and next time we set foot in that hospital will be when baby's on his way to this world!!! AND this time in our tour we actually got to SEE two real live newborn babies. The thing is that at our hospital they only have the babies in the nursery an hour after they are born to take their APGAR scores, and all that jazz, other than that the baby will be with momma and poppa the whole time, because they know how crucial the first hours of life are for a baby to bond with his parents. So when you see babies in the nursery it's only for a few minutes when they are only about an hour old....it was BeAuTiFul seeing these newborns, I got teary eyed just thinking that our little boy looks like that in mommy's belly....that explains all the commotion in there.
Friday, Mommy and baby had a doctor appointment....Poppa couldnt make it this time but he'll be there at all the following appts, because this is crunch time. Well good news is baby's little heart is tickin like it should, and he's growing as big as his poppa, so much that the doc wants to see mommy on Wednesday for an ultrasound because she says mommy's belly is measuring a little bigger than average. Hey what can we say, that's a big baby in there....Mommy's not carrying all this extra weight for nothin you know. Im really excited about seeing our baby on the ultrasound since he's way bigger than the last time we saw him on that thing.
Mommy spent ALL day Saturday washing baby's brand new clothes, and organized it nicely. Mommy also went to Target to get a few essentials that baby will need like his tub, and bouncie.
See all of mommy's hard work:

Sunday was Mother's day and Mommy felt like it was her birthday all over again with all the well wishers texting her Happy Mother's day...=) Thank you all...
Mommy had quiet a scare when Grammy Crabby wasnt feeling well and called her to rush over to Glendora to help, since Nina Violet was not home. Grammy felt better and we were able to go celebrate mother's day with the fam, Marquez style...meaning in no particular order just wherever the food is which happened to be at cousin Nene's house this time. Poppa surprised mommy and showed up to spend time with the Marquezes, after he visited Grammy Paty....that was nice.
It was real nice to spend time with the fam, especially now that Mother's day has a WHOLE new meaning...
Look at these kodak moments with the BEST Grandmother EVER:

She's SO SWEET!!! Granny got ME flowers! For the Mommy-to-be...she said this is for "you and your baby..." Melts my heart!

This is what I was thinking, it's thanks to this wonderful woman, although petite in stature, she is the strongest person I know, and she is the reason why me and the rest of the Marquez family exists. Granny has endured such hardships in her life, and has faced them with such courage that has carried our family to succeed and it's thanks to her that we are all here today... that is why she's my Hero =) Im very proud that our son, will get to meet her, and I am grateful everyday we have with her here with us.
This is such a cute family picture....Everyone's so darn cheeful. Good job Marquez fam.

8 children, 24 grandchildren, and 8 great-grandchildren later....(not all in the picture of course)Great ending to a beautiful mother's day.

Breastfeeding....

Gee whiz!!! I did NOT know that breastfeeding was such a complicated thing. Last night Mommy went to a breastfeeding workshop (Poppa took the day off due to a prior engagement called the Lakers, and cause baby gave him the night off) There is SO much to know about this darn process, which of course is THE BEST thing for baby, so Im gonna do it but jimminey crickets, it's a tedious thing. The lactation consultant that gave the class was phenomenal, and luckily our hospital is very "pro-breastfeeding", so they have consultants on site for when the baby's here, in case Mommy has trouble, AND they even have a free support group every Thursday so Mommy can go learn what she's doing wrong. Isnt that great? Well Im really excited to have baby here in his first hour of life which is the best time to try nursing since he will be the most alert, and we'll see if Mommy's milk factory really works. The scary thing is the complications that can occur if baby doesnt get the hang of it, or mommy doesnt know what the heck she's doing. Lets hope everything goes well, the good thing is that mommy went to learn, she's trying real hard to do everything right, and the real test will be the day baby gets here.

This Thursday's our last Childbirth class! Yikes....these past couple months have flown by! We did our Parenting, Childbirth, and Breastfeeding classes, and now Poppa and Mommy are ready to do the hands on, the real deal, the BIG ENCHILADA!!!!

Here's a picture of my pretend baby, who had a little too much sun...

Just a few more pictures...

Thank you is not enough...

Words cannot describe how grateful the Arreola Family, is to all of our family and friends for showing our baby so much love. Thank you Thank you Thank you to everyone who was able to come join us for a little baby fun at Grammy's house this Saturday, and for those would could not attend but where there in spirit too..=) We had SO much fun seeing everyone, and showing off Mommy's baby bump, for those who hadnt seen it in a while...he he.
The day started off great with some yummy tacos, and then the crowds started pouring in, with Mommy's fam...

...And Poppa's fam from San Diego

...And all of our friends....

I think I had a smile from ear to ear all evening long. The funniest was when the boys played pass the hot potato baby doll, and they had to change her little diaper...it was hillarious!

Look at how carefully Poppa passed the little baby doll....FUNNY!!!

Baby got a little tired towards the end but for the most part he was awake having fun with everyone at his first party.
Baby wants to give a special thanks to his Nina Violet and Tia Daisy who helped put together this whole sha bang, as well as grammy crabby, (who wasnt so crabby that day cause it was baby's party) and grampa who helped supervise the kids in the jumper...he loves kids =) And Grammy Paty who has filled baby's room with love, and FURNITURE! He he....

Baby loved ALL his gifts...every single one of them....from the diapers that will cover his little poppie butt...

....To the clothes that will keep him warm...

....To the books that will help him learn to read...

To the swing which he will use to hang around with mommy while she's cooking, and the bassinets that his grammy's gave him where he will rest his sleepy head.

Mommy & Poppa are even ready to be parents in style....check it out...His and Hers diaper bags.

We are just SO SO grateful, and happy that everyone can't wait to welcome our baby into this world.

~Tank you everybody, see you soon, when I come out of my mommy's belly button, at the hospital. I'm the luckiest little baby coming to such a loving home, with such great family and friends around me. I can't wait, it's getting real cramped in here! ~Baby Arreola (32 weeks old)
